Decisive shift India allocates $ 18 Bn for military equipment
An allocation of almost $ 18 billion, under what is called the ‘Capital head’ of its budget, is the largest increase in 15 years when calculated on an year-on-year basis. It also almost doubles the allocation within past four years. In the budget presented in February 2017 the allocation was Rs 69,473 Crore ( approx $ 9.26 billion).

Domestic Industry looks at $53 billion orders, after import ban on military items
India imports weapons and equipment to the tune of $ 9 billion annually, with several items off the import list, the orders will go to local manufacturers. Orders of estimated an Rs 400,000 Crore ( $ 53 billion) are expected to be placed upon the domestic industry within the next five to seven years
