Ending months of silence on buying new fighter jets, India has announced it will push the case of getting 114 jets from a foreign maker under a deal expected to be in around $ 20 billion.

490 fighter jets are needed by the Indian Air Force (IAF) over the next 20 years, or roughly by end of 2040. Inductions will be in batches from November 2020 which literally lays down the future of military aviation in India.
